Gombak, 26 August 2026 — The Centre for Unmanned Technologies (CUTe), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), is proud to announce the official signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between IIUM’s Kulliyyah of Engineering (KOE) and HDJ Drone Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., held at the Senate Hall, Muhammad Abdul-Rauf (MAR) Building, IIUM Gombak.

Driven by the technical expertise and research leadership of CUTe researchers, the agreement was officially signed by IIUM Deputy Rector (Academic & Internationalisation), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Faris Ismail, and Dean of KOE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Khairul Azami Sidek, alongside the Director of HDJ Drone Technology Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., Mr. Chua Jing Yit. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dato’ Seri Haji Amli.

This milestone partnership is established under the Made-in-Malaysia “AI x Drone” Program, a high-impact initiative aimed at advancing homegrown autonomous capabilities. The collaborative effort will primarily focus on the research, design, and deployment of AI-powered detection cameras and advanced real-time tracking algorithms.

Through this initiative, both parties aim to accelerate high-level technology transfer, strengthen local intellectual property, and cultivate future-ready engineering talent capable of addressing modern aerospace and unmanned systems demands.
